Thomas Dolby at AES

Examining the future of entertainment and business strategies to help it grow, the the NAB Show, conducted by the National Association of Broadcasters, runs from October 17 to 18 at New York’s Jacob Javits Center.

Running since 1991, the NAB Show is “where content comes to life” (according to their tagline) and features a plethora of exhibitors, panel discussions, hands on training, workshops and more. The core program of the NAB Show features several tracks focusing on business (cloud services, news, distribution), creativity (behind the scenes work, event production), and technology (wearables, AR, VR, content delivery).

The opening keynote features the legendary Robert De Niro in a Q&A with “Deadline Hollywood” Contributing Editor, Dade Hayes, where they will discuss the future of film and entertainment and the insight De Niro brings from his decades of experience in the entertainment world.

There will also be networking and Happy Hour events for those of you who advance your careers through better schmoozing.

Presented in conjunction with NAB is the AES (Audio Engineering Society) New York, which looks at every possible facet in audio engineering including within games, movies, television, live shows, home installations and more. Audio engineers and companies from across the country will be putting on workshops, demonstrations and more for audio pros and newcomers alike. Special discussions include how audio engineering will reshape mobile devices, a conversation with legendary mastering engineer Bob Ludwig of the famed Gateway Mastering Studios, and more.
