Installation of Paul Laffoley's The Life and Death of Elvis Presley: A Suite (1988-1995)

Featuring art dealers and exhibitors from around the world, the Outsider Art Fair (OAF) is one of New York’s best events for unique and uncompromising visions. Running March 2 to the 5th at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 W. 18th Street), OAF will feature 64 exhibitors, including:

...and many more.

The OAF will also have a series of special exhibits. Its annual Curated Space exhibition, We Are Birds is produced in partnership with The Birdsong Project to benefit the National Audubon Society. OAF has joined forces with Grammy Award-winning music producer and supervisor Randall Poster, who co-founded The Birdsong Project as a collaboration with some of the world's most respected musicians, artists, poets, and actors, to support the National Audubon Society. The exhibit features dozens of works inspired by birdlife made by self-taught and contemporary artists, including Greg Burak, Minnie Evans, Tony Fitzpatrick, William Hawkins, Chris Johanson, Pam Lins, Eleanor Ray, Fred Tomaselli, and Bill Traylor. The Life and Death of Elvis Presley: A Suite is an exhibition of American artist and architect Paul Laffoley (1935-2015) eight paintings of The King. Each picture represents the artist’s interpretation of the distinct phases in the life of Elvis Presley.

There will be a series of informative lectures and panels as part of OAF Talks. OAF Talks will be held at the Americas Society on Monday, February 27th, with two panels; one on Minnie Evans (moderated by Esther Adler, Curator of Drawings and Prints, MoMA), and another on Arthur Bispo do Rosario (featuring Javier Téllez, curator of Bispo do Rosario: AllExisting Materials on Earth).
