Digital Hollywood NY: Media Disruption To Mount Power Panels

Digital Hollywood New YorkEven if – or especially if – self-promotion is your motivation for attending another media conference, you’re likely to encounter some useful pointers at Digital Hollywood New York: Media Disruption: TV, Film & Video, Magazines, News, Books, Games, Commerce & Advertising, which will take place November 10 to 12, 2010 at the Lighthouse Conference Center (59th St. and Lexington Ave.) in New York City.

Networking opps abound in this three-day event where life imitates media platforms and attendees can browse the four to seven sessions unfolding concurrently in various conference rooms. And for an extra fee, those with unlimited appetites for shop talk can attend nightly dinners featuring special guest speakers yet to be announced.


Given the explosion in tablets, TVs, smartphones and apps -- and their hepped-up users’ mounting compulsions to master them for private and professional gratification -- Media Disruption is expected to pack a crowd. Plugging this crowd into the anyone's-guess industry future will be industry leaders from the likes of Verizon, HBO, NBC, New York Times, Sony, Turner, Microsoft and Barnes & Noble.The opening keynoter is Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales.

Digital Hollywood New York: Media Disruption is the east coast answer to Digital Hollywood Content Summit Los Angeles, which packed fidgety media types at its Santa Monica, CA bash October 18-21, 2010.

Paired as “Content Summit x2,” they’re the newest additions to the roster of content, commerce and advertising jamborees that includes Media Summit New York. (The upcoming edition will be co-presented with Bloomberg BusinessWeek March 9-10, 2011.)
