Toy Fair 2012 Is The Place To Be

Of the many events that happen in New York City annually, there are few I look forward to more than American International Toy Fair. It combines all my obsessions -- collectibles, fantasy and sci-fi, technology, and the idea that people can do things they love while actually offering something for children.

Though it’s a trade event, it offers a focus on the season to come that’s for the industry and consumers alike. The 109th American International Toy Fair kicks off with opening ceremonies on Sunday, February 12th at 10 a.m. and runs through Wednesday, February 15th, 2012, until 4 p.m. at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

The largest and most important youth product exhibition in the Western Hemisphere. Toy Fair is the event to attend if you want to know about a world of trands that filter through society in more ways than one.

The Javits is filled with over 1,100 exhibitors showcasing 100,000 products -- all under one roof -- with more than 7,000 new toys debuting with the hope of being the next big thing.

Besides these booths there are a number of other features that happens during Toy Fair. These include the following educational sessions:

  • Guerilla Marketing: Free and Low Cost Marketing Ideas to Drive More Traffic and Profits to Your Store, presented by Patricia Norins, Publisher, Specialty Retail Report, Gift Shop magazine & GREENRetailer
  • 3 Secrets to Increasing Retails Sales & Profits in 30 Days presented by Cathy Donovan Wagner, RETAILMavens
  • Guide to Exporting presented by Anne S. Evans, District Director, US Department of Commerce International Trade Administration

There are also serialized education and networking events and12 specialized Product Zones.

Toy Fair offers four days to meet, connect, network and play with industry professionals from around the world.
