New York Comic Con 2010

From Friday, October 8th through Sunday, October 10th, the Jacob J. Javits Center of Manhattan first-look industry news and announcements, workshops, panels, autograph opportunities, an enormous cache of vendors, an artist alley, as well as a plethora of con-exclusive releases of books, toys, and other media.

The list of guests is incredible. Major creators appearing include one of the most iconic legends of comics, Stan Lee as well as both comic artists John Romita Senior and Junior. Art legend and Kubert School for Cartooning founder Joe Kubert will be in attendance. Other names comics fans will recognize are Brian Michael Bendis, J. Michael Straczynski, and Mike Agrusso.

While the event centers around the world of comic books and comic culture, New York Comic Con is also a magnet for enthusiasts of movies, television, music, toys and collectibles, and popular technology. 

Among the many multi-media guests from the entertainment world include

  • Battle Star Galactica's hot star Tricia Helfer
  • the incomparable filmmaker Bruce Campbell
  • director M. Night Shyamalan
  • Joe Abercrombie
  • Jocelynn Drake 

Online ticket prices depend on the day of attendance ( Friday $30, Saturday $40, Sunday $30 ), and passes for the whole weekend are $50. Special packages affording special access and goodies are also available for purchase online.

Tickets for the NYCC also get you into the New York Anime Festival, which is sharing the Javits Center the same weekend.
