Rooftop Films Summer Series Celebrates 25 Years With Daring Cinema

We’re All Going to the World’s Fair

As part of their 25th anniversary, Rooftop Films is proud to announce their latest Summer Series slate of films and programming for 2021. The Rooftop Films Summer Series runs from June 17 to mid September with over 40 outdoor screenings of shorts, features, and more. 

The series kicks off on June 17 with This is What We Mean by Short Films at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. What We Mean features seven unique short films including Melting Snow, Audible, and Pussymask. On June 22, Jane Schoenbrun’s psychological computer horror film We’re All Going to the World’s Fair will make its New York debut at the New York Hall of Science (47-01 111th St, Corona, NY). On June 19th the documentary October Country, which looks at a small town’s life from one Halloween to the next, screens at the Green-Wood Cemetery with a live score performed by filmmakers Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher. Juneteenth Celebration: (RE)VISION, presented by 651 ARTS at The Plaza At 300 Ashland in Brooklyn, highlights films that look through the lens of futurism and movement to illuminate stories about the Black perspective and the Black experience in America told through a hybrid presentation that explores what it means to be Black and how to imagine a way forward together.
