AIPAD Photography Show 2016 at Park Ave. Armory

The Family Acid: Joan Didion in Berkeley, 1972

Running April 14 - 17, 2016, at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Ave, New York, NY), The Photography Show Presented by AIPAD is comprised of over 80 exhibitors from around the world, presenting a wide range of museum-quality work, including contemporary, modern, and 19th-century photographs as well as photo-based art, video, and new media.

The show provides a yearly survey and offers the opportunity to see an overview in what is being shown in galleries or exhibiting instutions worldwide. It also offers collectors a chance to acquire work which might not otherwise be available.

Along with exhibitors are a series of panel discussions held by experts from the world of photography.

Panels include:

  • Artists Working Today
A discussion with artists who are stretching the boundaries of photography in transformative ways.
  • The Art of Photography on the Internet
From social media to blogs, a discussion about how the internet is shaping the look of photography.
  • Collecting 101
As the photography art world grows exponentially, so do the challenges for both emerging and established collectors. Experts discuss what every collector should know – from art fairs and insurance to recent market changes in the U.S. and Europe.

One of the top events in NYC for photography old and new, The Photography Show Presented by Aipad is a great event for a spring weekend.
