2011 New York Times Travel Show

The eighth annual New York Times Travel Show, to be held Feb. 25 to 27, 2011, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York NYT Travel ShowCity is really two show wrapped up in one. On the first day, Friday, it is an event for professionals from travel writers to travel management companies.

The 2011 Travel Show will begin with a trade day for industry professionals on Feb. 25, offering targeted conferences about Africa, the Caribbean, cruising and travel media. The exhibit hall will also be open for exclusive viewing by travel trade professionals, followed by an industry reception on the exhibit floor.

The Show  features nearly 500 exhibitors representing more than 150 countries and  takes place in the main hall located on the south side of the Javits Convention Center. The strategic focus of the event will be to encourage consumers to book vacations for a wide variety of trips, taking advantage of the on-site special offers available only during the Travel Show.

As North America's premier travel show it attracts a unique global representation of the world’s leading tourism markets including Africa, Asia, Australia/South Pacific, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, Central America, South America and the United States.

At this year’s event, travel experts who will take questions and offer tips in on-site seminars [see list below]. This year’s show will include specialty travel pavilions for vacation home rental and cruise travel.

This year’s New York Times Travel Show coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, a national, star-studded, four-day destination event showcasing the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities, benefiting Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In celebration of the annual culinary event, guests at The New York Times Travel Show will be treated to a one-of-a-kind culinary demonstration stage presented by the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, where South Florida chefs will bring a taste of the Festival north for the weekend.
