Creation Entertainment's Official Star Trek Convention is being held March 11 - 13, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in San Francisco, CA, where Leonard Nimoy returns to the site of one of his greatest triumphs -- directing and starring in Star Trek IV.
This year marks the 45th Anniversary of Star Trek, the original series, and the Official Star Trek event in San Francisco kicks off the year's celebrations. This is also the year that both William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy turn 80.
In addition to Nimoy, original cast star Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) will also be appearing, along with:
Grace Lee Whitney (Yoeman Rand, Star Trek TOS and the feature films).
Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating (Enterprise),
Nana Visitor and Rene Auberjonois (Deep Space Nine)
Eric Menyuk (The Traveler, The Next Generation)
Also appearing are
Gwynth Walsh and Barbara March (Klingons: the Duras Sisters, Lursa and B'Etor). The Duras Sisters make their convention debut this weekend.
Bobby Clark (The Gorn, Star Trek TOS "Arena" plus other episodes)
Barry Jenner (Admiral William Ross, Deep Space Nine)
Alan Scarfe (Admiral Mendek, The Next Generation; Tokath, Voyager)
Jane Weidlin, member of the popular 80's rock band The Go-Gos (Alien Communications Officer Trillya, Star Trek IV).
The weekend features an array of Star Trek stars, non-stop events, parties, contests, panels, music, performances, autographing, photo ops and some extra surprises.
Special Events include:
A Leonard Nimoy Photography Seminar
Leonard has agreed to present this seminar which includes a screening of Leonard's video on Secret Selves, his latest photography project, and a lecture about the aesthetics of fine art/conceptual photography. Secret Selves is a series of portraits and video Interviews of people whom Nimoy invited to be photographed as their secret, hidden or fantasy personalities, with intriguing results.
Creation's own Sunday Celebrity Breakfast this year is with the stars of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Creation's Saturday Evening Celebrity Cabaret includes Dominic Keating, debuting his stand-up comedy act (adult content) as well as Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh, along with surprise guest performer Alan Scarfe with his wife, Barbara.
Rene Auberjonois and Nana Visitor, both veterans of the Broadway stage, reunite this weekend to perform Cross Your Hearts: Poems and Prose Read by Nana and Rene.
Richard Arnold, Trek Expert -- as who wouldn't be after serving as long-time assistant to Gene Roddenberry himself. His new presentation in honor of the original series' 45 year history includes examination of both fact and legend, and how-they-did-its for some of the most famous episodes.
John Paladin holds a special on-stage workshop on character make-up. His specialty is Klingons, and John will be transforming a willing victim from human to Klingon.
The weekend includes such Creation staples fans have come to expect as:
