San Diego Comic-Con 2011

The world-famous San Diego Comic-Con International runs July 21 - 24, 2011, returning to sdcc-Logothe San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.

Due to the high volume of attendance and numerous events, the films and related panels are also being presented at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Hotel.

Appearing are well over 60 Special Guests from comics and graphic novels, magazines, books and art works, such as:

  • Sergio Aragonés – Cartoonist, Groo, MAD magazine
  • Jean Bails – The widow of Dr. Jerry Bails, the "Father of Comic Book Fandom"
  • Anina Bennett – Writer/Editor, Heartbreakers, Boilerplate
  • Joyce Brabner – Writer, Real War Stories, Our Cancer Year
  • Ernie Chan – Artist, Conan, Batman, Jonah Hex
  • Jo Chen – Artist, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Runaways, Xbox Fable

  • Garth Ennis – Writer/Creator, Preacher, Crossed, The Boys
  • Joyce Farmer – Cartoonist, Wimmen's Comix, Special Exits

Hollywood is turning out as well, with appearances by:

  • The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn stars and director: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and director Bill Condon
  • Filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn, with cast members Guy Pearce (Don't Be Afraid of the Dark) and Carey Mulligan and Ron Perlman (Drive)
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar, with Ringer co-stars Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell, Kristoffer Polaha, executive producers Pam Veasey, Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo
  • Bruce Campbell, star of Burn Notice, and Matt Nix, Burn Notice creator/writer/executive producer, to present Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe
  • Napoleon Dynamite original cast members from the hit indie film including Jon Heder, Tina Majorino, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries, Sandy Martin, Diedrich Bader and executive producer Mike Scully
  • Homeland – Series star Morena Baccarin introduces exclusive footage

Comic-Con International again features a massive schedule of programming events -- the largest of any comics or pop culture convention in the country.
