IFA 2011 Consumer Electronics Unlimited

IFA LogoIFA in Berlin, Germany is being held on September 2 – 7, 2011. IFA is a global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances which presents the latest products and innovations in the heart of Europe’s premier regional market.

Attendees will get the latest information first-hand from industry leading companies like Toshiba, Haier, Yamaha, and Nikon, just to name a few.

The 51st IFA is only a few weeks away. It is time to find out about all the attractions on offer at IFA 2011 – events specifically for trade visitors, or the programme for the younger generation: IFA has something to suit everyone.

IFA International Keynotes, IFA DisplaySearch Business Conference and TecWatch: as a trade visitor this is where you can not only find out about tomorrow’s trends, you can also engage interactively in a dialogue. The International Media Congress at Medienwoche@IFA is an opportunity to obtain answers to these and many other questions concerning the future of the constantly changing media world.

Some outstanding contributors have already been named this year. One of the keynotes speakers in 2011 will be Julian Assange: the founder of WikiLeaks and internet activist will be taking part in the congress via a satellite link.

The keynotes for IFA feature two of the industry's leading exectuives:

  • Opening Keynote with Masaaki Osumi, President and CEO of Toshiba
Next Challenge for Japan: A new symbiotic relationship between 'The digital home' & 'Energy'
  • Keynote with Keith McLoughlin, President and CEO of Electrolux
Consumers are in the driver's seat for growth

The future is in the hands of the younger generation. In 2011 it is particularly gratifying to be staging our successful schools project "Schule@IFA" for the third successive year. IFA also has its own youth section, YoungIFA, and this year it is sharing a hall with the music station MTV, with events, prize draws and in particular live concerts each day to create the right mood.

There will be plenty of interest music fans this year in the IFA Summer Garden too. Messe Berlin’s Summer Garden will be hosting some highly entertaining open-air events, including performances by the multiple winners of the ECHO Music Award, Ich & Ich, and the comeback of the year by Roland Kaiser for older music fans.
