Internet Week Europe held in London

internet weekThe second annual Internet Week Europe, hosted by Europe's digital industry, will premier in London on November 7 - 11, 2011. Internet week is not a  traditional conference where you sit all day while speakers troop on stage. Instead, the many crowd-sourced events are held throughout London.

The Hospital Club is the inaugural HQ for Internet Week Europe 2011. The only club designed specifically for the Creative industries, it features seven floors of inspiration, entertainment and innovation -- from a state-of-the-art TV Studio through to the Gallery, beautiful club spaces, fabulous restaurant and up to the Screening Room and roof top Martini Bar.

In between sessions IWE delegates are invited to lounge around the Bellini Bar with an espresso martini rustled up by their expert bar staff.

Throughout the Internet Week, more than 200 events are expected to take place citywide, from Tech-City’s Bethnal Green, Silicon Roundabout and Shoreditch to Westminster and Covent Garden.

These events represent a wide spectrum of digital topics, ranging from digital culture and creativity, through politics and social media to networking, privacy, games, mobile and entrepreneurialism.

The second annual gathering and celebration of Europe’s dihospital clubgital industry offers unprecedented networking and learning opportunities, with events encompassing everything from conferences, workshops, panels, entertainment, social media meet-ups, parties and even industry speed-dating.

The calendar for 2011 reflects how Internet Week Europe has fast emerged as a top annual gathering for internet leaders across Europe, and a showcase for Europe’s thriving digital innovations.

"Now in its second year and already feeling like an established annual event for the European digital community, the weeklong festival continues to raise the profile of internet companies and organizations and celebrate the best of the European web.

"The citywide platform is a way for many to get to the heart of our digital culture, with emerging themes including start-up culture, mobile creativity, privacy issues, cyber crime and the use of social media in government all being addressed."

For the second year in a row, Yahoo! is on board as presenting sponsor, with Vitamin T, a new division of Aquent, supporting the festival as official sponsor. The official media partners are BIMA and The Financial Times.

Internet Week Europe is delighted to welcome for the first time SapientNitro as official agency partner, LinkedIn as its official networking partner, Wildfire as Social Media partner and WebCrumbz.net as the official app development partner.

European partners have venue spaces available to them from TechHub, Central working and Hub Culture, as well as accommodation offers from The Sanderson and St Martins Lane hotels and Roomarama.
