Ad Age Digital Conference 2012

Now in its sixth year, AdAge's Digital Conference 2012 is one of the important must attend conferences on the digital marketing calendar. Taking place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC April 17th and 18th, 2012. 

2012 is a critical year for digital media.

The spectacular $1 billion acquisition of Instagram by Facebook clearly makes the statement that Facebook is serious about mobile media. This year has also also seen an IPO being staged for the leading independent mobile ad network Millennial Media.

Perhaps this is the year of at least mobile advertising -- and that is one of the themes to be explored at the Ad Age Digital. 

Privacy and PII laws are front and center with the roll out of legislation in Europe and the FTC suggesting that if the digital industry fails to respoonsibily police itself then the FTC will intrdouce consumer online privacy protection legislation.

Video is also very much on the minds of the media and advertising industry. The hope is that video will be the route to digital riches and turn offline ad dollars into online brand ad dollars. 

2012 is also becoming the year of branded social media platforms like Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest even WordPress, and yes the big one Facebook. And while we are talking about Social Media and TV so a new topic and digital category has arrived with high expectations for the future in the form of SocialTV, is SocialTV the perfect brand play combining the media giant of TV with the brand marketing upstart of social media.

And then there is data. Data has become the manta of Digital of late, it is all about data, analytics, insights.
