Here again to help you plan your Summer excursions that you dream about during these dreary winter months, it’s the New York Times Travel Show. Running January 25 to 27 at the Jacob Javits Center, the mainstay expo show has returned once more to help you with all your globe-trotting needs.
The expo opens with a State of the Industry panel discussion as leaders of the travel and tourism industry share their perspectives on solutions that will drive growth in the industry and increase satisfaction for travelers. There will also be a wealth of travel seminars to help you learn the ins and outs of going elsewhere. Don’t have a passport? No problem! The Passport Pop-Up will allow visitors to apply for or renew a U.S. passport on the show floor.
The expo’s Cultural Stages hosts an array of performances and demonstrations from all over the world. The Caribbean/Latin American Stage will musical performances, discussions on traveling to Guatemalla, and Dream Vacation giveaways. The European Stage will have informational talks on seeing Rome, tour packages to see Portugal, and demonstrations of Irish dancing. The Global Stage will have a live recording of “Family Travel Radio” featuring special guests, presentations on Canadian marine travel, and traditional dancing from Botswana. The Asian Stage has a cooking demonstration from Copper Throat Thai Cuisine, Chinese folk dances, and Japanese Taiko drum performances.
The Travel Show also offers book signings and a chance to meet your favorite travel authors. Signings include the Broadway cast of “Waitress”, Margaret Littman, Jason Frye, Melissa Clark, Padma Lakshmi, Stephanie Rosenbloom, and many more.
The LGBTQ Travel Pavilion helps hililght safe and fun travel packages for LGBTQ globetrotters a wide world of travel opportunities and insurance for LGBTQ travelers and their allies. And there is still a tremendous number of exhibitors on the show floor to help guide all show visitors.
