Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful Festival is Almost a Week Away

As if anyone needed another reason to go to Las Vegas. Now, in addition to being a roving pleasure park with over 120 casinos and more clubs then you can go to in a weekend as well as the location of the wildly popular EDM festival the Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas is home to the Life is Beautiful Festival, a banquet of music, arts, food and learning in downtown Las Vegas. The first, hopefully annual two day festival takes place on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th and is expected to be widely attended. Between Vegas’s incumbent attractions and the weekend festival of high-profile musicians, speakers, craft-cocktails and arts both theatrical and installed, the festival promises to entertain and enrich in equal measure. Whether it skews more towards learning or boozing is a matter of choice with a lineup as jam-packed as this one.

The musicians, as usual, get the highest billing out of the festival’s offerings, including both indie-rock mainstays and hyped up acts for the more particular palate. The Killers, Kings of Leon, Passion Pit, Jurassic Five, Pretty Lights, Earl Sweatshirt and Danny Brown are just some of the acts out of the over 50 acts to play on four outdoor stages and several more indoor venues. Along with those we get several hit chefs and mixologists showcasing their crafts in every way conceivable, from intimate dinner to beer-garden-style food and drink installation, offering most possible combinations of atmosphere, entrée, and aperitif to suit your palate. Along with street art demonstrations, installation pieces and performance artists of many stripes, we’ll also get a chance to see Cirque du Soleil perform an act from the much-anticipated Michael Jackson ONE project along with 6 performances from Las Vegas’ resident Soleil productions. And, if you manage to binge a little hard on all the music festival installations, the festival boasts over 25 speakers talking on doing what you love and surmounting the obstacles the obstacles that come up when you follow that path.

The festival, much like any other music festival bursting at the seams with extra events and features to get lost in, is expected to be packed and has racked up plenty of corporate sponsors. The cost is reasonable given how hyper-inflated the price of most festivals is these days and the festival makes a wonderful excuse to get out to Vegas if you were already looking for the opportunity to hang out for a weekend in America’s playground. The party will probably start early and end early in the morning, making this cornucopia a good way to pass the time until the next EDC. Enjoy the food, the drinks, the music and the art in instead of gambling and you might actually walk away without loosing your rent money, or just do both and revel in the excess.
