The sunny sands of Miami Florida are about to be besieged by a tidal wave of art dealers, artists, and parties as a bevy of art shows come to the city. Art Miami (December 4 - 9 at the former Miami Herald site, Biscayne Bay), now in its 29th installment, specializes in modern and contemporary art from the 20th and 21st century. Galleries such as Acacia Gallery, DIE GALERIE, and Liquid Art System will be taking part in the show. Art Miami also exhibits a wide range of new and up-and-coming artists throughout the show.

The Pulse Art Fair (December 6 - 9, at Indian Beach Park), began its life in 2005 and to this day specializes in new and contemporary art. On special presentation is the Projects portion of the show, with this year’s piece from Miya Ando called Moonlit Clouds, which will lead attendees into the show with elegant silk banners inspired by Buddhist teachings. The Perspectives portion of the show includes workshops and Q&A segments on meditation and architecture, while the Collaborations exhibitions features new and strange installations from artists such as Antonyo Marest, Adrienne Elise Tarver, and Windy Chien. And of course there will be a wealth of galleries exhibiting on the show floor as well.
