BARN ON THE POND ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING
Woodstock's Premier Destination for Vacation Rentals and Special Events
Woodstock, NY (June, 1 2011) - The upstate New York Catskill region welcomes its newest addition and premier year-round country destination, Barn on the Pond. Nestled between popular and historic locales Saugerties and Woodstock, the rustic and uniquely elegant barn-style vacation rental and event space sits perched on approximately four acres of lush private property overlooking magnificent mountain views. Whether staying for a meditative yoga retreat or a quaint country wedding, Barn on the Pond offers guests endless possibilities in rural entertainment and leisure by combining modern luxuries and amenities with Old-World charm - redefining the country getaway experience.
"My main focus was to create an experience and a space that exemplifies everything I love about living and entertaining in the country and share it with as many people as possible," says owner Tripp Bassett, principal of his eponymous NYC graphics firm, Tripp Bassett Design. "Community and collaboration were the foundation on which Barn on the Pond was built, and we want everyone who visits to feel and experience that. We also wanted to make the transition from outdoor to indoor as seamless as possible so both the interior and exterior spaces are essentially an extension of one another."
Barn on the Pond was restored from its turn-of-the-century predecessor into a space meticulously designed for comfort, convenience, recreation and pleasure. Designed by Leonard Temes B. Arch (Cornell) of LA design firm Leonard Temes and Associates, the home features soaring wood beamed ceilings, inviting fireplaces, a sun room, and a spacious wrap-around deck and patio. With 2 bedrooms, a loft and 2 baths, Barn on the Pond comfortably accommodates up to 9 guests as a vacation rental. The historic character of the cherry red barn is balanced by a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen, and other contemporary touches throughout the home that provide the best in modern-day living. The interior design by Gino CastaƱo creates a comfy, homey atmosphere that is at the same time sophisticated and eclectic.
The grounds surrounding Barn on the Pond are full of exciting adventures for the senses with a wildflower meadow, fire pit and meditation trails designed by award-winning NY-based landscape architectural firm Terrain, as well as a swimming pond and floating bed. Meanwhile off in the distance, the Barn offers awe-inspiring views of the majestic Catskill Mountains and crimson sunsets that can be seen from several different vantage points on the property.
The driving force at the heart of the project was Tripps late mother, Patricia Lubben Bassett, a pillar in the Roswell, NM community where he was raised. When she passed away, an education facility was built in her honour: Patricia Lubben Bassett Art Education Center and Patricia Lubben Bassett Auditorium. As a board member of the Roswell Museum of Art, and the founder of Roswells first Girls Club of America chapter, Patricia dedicated her time and resources to promoting art, culture and community - a legacy that lives on in Barn on the Pond.
