NAB Show 2011

The NAB Show is being held April 9 - 14, 2011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. Included in altthis event is the Media Business Conference on April 13.

The NAB Show is the world's largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums. Held annually in Las Vegas, the event hosts 90,000 attendees from 151 countries and more than 1,500 exhibitors.

"From creation to consumption, across multiple platforms and countless nationalities, the NAB Show is home to the solutions that transcend traditional broadcasting and embrace content delivery to new screens in new ways."

The Art of Integration Gallery presents the entire collection of inspired images used throughout the 2011 NAB Show.

The NAB Show Opening starts with the welcome by NAB President and CEO Gordon H. Smith, who provides a brief overview of what to expect at the NAB Show.

The NAB Distinguished Service Award is presented to members of the broadcast community who have made significant and lasting contributions to the broadcasting industry. This year's recipient is Eddie Fritts, Founder of The Fritts Group and former NAB President for 23 years.

The NAB Show Opening finale features a perfect example of "The Art of Integration" with Academy Award winning director James Cameron, the creative force behind the two highest grossing motion pictures of all time, and Vince Pace, renowned inventor of 3D film technology. The two discuss recent developments and innovations in content creation, and implications for the entertainment industry at large, most notably the most advanced stereoscopic acquisition system ever created, known as FUSION.alt

Behind the Multi-Platform Success of Glee, Mad Men, Spartacus and More...Lacey Rose of The Hollywood Reporter  in conversation with Kevin Beggs, Lionsgate Television Group, Hollywood Radio & Television Society; with Dante Di Loreto, Glee, Ryan Murphy Productions and Stephan Shelanski, Starz Entertainment, LLC. Among the New Products and Features on Display at NAB Show:

  • I-MOVIX presents a new version of SprintCam® Vvs HD, the ultra-slow-motion system for live HD broadcast production. Featuring the outstanding quality, performance, and usability of SprintCam technology, SprintCam Vvs HD now operates at frame rates up to 2,700 fps in 1080i50 or up to 5,800 fps in 720p60 (more than 200 times slower than live action) and provides instant replay at native HD resolution and image quality.
  • Softel will be showing the company's enhanced portfolio of captioning and subtitling solutions as well as its interactive TV and connected TV solutions.
  • Media Exchange (MX) is a highly secure browser-based application that enables IT and non-IT managers and staff to send content bigger than e-mail can handle to where it needs to be faster and more easily than ever before. Users working from their offices or production sites, or even from home, can exchange content with other employees, customers, systems, and applications regardless of location and size of digital assets.
