The fifth annual Texas Frightmare Weekend (TFW) comes to the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dallas, Texas from April 29 - May 1, 2011, the Southwest's premier horror convention and film festival.
TFW attendees have the exclusive first chance to grab the new issue 2 days early when Rue Morgue premieres issue #111 at the event. Rue Morgue founder/president Rodrigo Gudiño and art designer Gary Pullin will be on hand to sign them for no additional charge.
TFW is celebrating the 40th anniversary of A Clockwork Orange, Stanley Kubrick's groundbreaking 1971 film, with the return of Malcolm McDowell. The character of lead droog Alex DeLarge "has gained considerable notoriety among filmgoers and can often be found on lists of greatest villains." McDowell has over 195 movies to his credit, including genre fare such as Tank Girl, Rob Zombie's Halloween and Cat People. And he‛s not done yet -- two of his upcoming films are horror flicks as well: Amy Heckerling‛s Vamps and Travis Baker‛s Mischief Night.
Director Yoshihiro Nishimura (Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl, Tokyo Gore Police, Helldriver) joins his frequent cast member from these films, Eihi Shiina (Audition) in her first-ever convention appearance. At this rare opportunity for autographs, both guests have announced that they will donate 100% of all autograph sales to the Japan Society's earthquake relief fund. The Japan Society charity relief effort gives 100% of proceeds to relief efforts in Japan.
