As part of Design Week NYC 2012, from May 19th to 22nd (for both the industry, and open to the public on the 22nd), the Jacob Javits Center will host the 24th annualInternational Contemporary Furniture Fair. The ICFF is one of the top events representing the sublime fusion of function and design and brings together designers re-inventing and re-creating the best in interior design.

  • Art Center College of Design
  • Pratt Institute
  • The University of Tokyo
  • Virginia Tech

More than 500 exhibitors from all points of the globe will display contemporary furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, outdoor furniture, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, and kitchen and bath for residential and commercial interiors.

Exhibitors include:

  • Portugal Brands
  • Eli Popp
  • Douglas Thayer
  • Cerno
  • Demorais International

  • Molteni&C Dada

Among the many panels, ICFF also features numerous guest speakers such as:

  • Cindy Allen (editor in chief of Interior Designs) on the influence of Spanish design
  • Hugo Macdonald (design editor of Monocle) discussing the future of design with Ronan Bouroullec

The ICFF Studio is unique in pairing talented, up-and-coming designers and their prototype products with made-to-measure potential manufacturers. A one-of-a-kind forum for identifying and supporting the solvers of tomorrow’s design problems today, ICFF Studio celebrates emerging designers and their ready-for-prime-time projects. It also provides a must-see exhibition of the stuff of youthful invention.

ICFF is a fascinating event for interior design, and a great way to kick off Design Week's city-wide events.
