The 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show will be held for the fourth consecutive year from Dec. 4-13, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA. 90015.
The Los Angeles Auto Show has been growing in stature as an international auto show since it changed its dates. This year, the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA), the world automobile trade association, has officially named the Los Angeles Auto Show as one of its sanctioned international exhibitions.
Frederick (Fritz) Henderson, president and chief executive officer of General Motors, will kick off the LA Auto Show by delivering the Motor Press Guild (MPG) keynote address.
The winner of the 2010 Green Car of the Year® (GCOY) award will be announced Dec. 3, 2009 during the LA Auto Show’s Press Days. Green Car Journal, the leading automotive environmental magazine, initiated this annual award in 2005 and it has continued to grow in significance as consumer demand for more fuel efficient and environmentally positive vehicles has increased exponentially.
Last year, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI clean diesel was named Green Car Journal’s 2009 Green Car of the Year®, with jurors noting that it raised the bar significantly in environmental performance with its EPA estimated 41 mpg highway fuel economy, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and extremely low tailpipe emissions.
