The Irish Arts Center continues its long running festival of verse with the 16th Annual PoetryFest. Running December 5 to 7 at NYC’s Irish Art Center (726 11th Avenue, Hells Kitchen), the festival showcases Ireland’s poetic talent, curated by Vona Groarke. Writers from Ireland, Northern Ireland, and North America assemble for a weekend of readings and conversations. The festival opens with Favorite Irish Poems in which festival poets and special guests share their most-loved verses by Irish writers, followed by a reception in the Devlin Café. The next two days features readings from poets such as Alan Gillis, Dorothea Lasky, Paul Muldoon, Rita Dove and more.
