Would anybody wear shoes that didn't fit them? Of course not. The same logic applies to bras but according to Susan Nethero, founder of Intimacy (bra fit stylists), a shocking 70-85% of women wear the wrong size bra. A properly fitting bra creates a foundation for one’s clothes, whereas an improper fitting bra can ruin a look and can also cause back, neck, or shoulder pain. For this reason, Susan opened the first Intimacy store (a high-end lingerie boutique) over 20 years ago to introduce women to bra fit styling specialists and premium European designers in lingerie, shapewear and swimwear styles.
Intimacy features lingerie from the world’s best brands, offering over 90 bra sizes, including Marie Jo (A-F cups), Panache (D-K cups), Epreinte (D-H cups) and Aubade (A-F cups), with a variety of styles and colors, matching bottoms, sleepwear, shapewear and even bathing suit separates.
Intimacy recently opened their NYC flagship store in the Flatiron District at 104 5th Ave., the third in the city. The 1,228 square foot space is your own personal boudoir, stocked with colorful intimate wear, nine fitting rooms to accommodate clients, and knowledgeable bra specialists whom I've dubbed "bra whisperers". Each stylists goes through an eight-week training program where they learn how to give each customer a personal touch - identify needs, make useful suggrestions, and create individual files for follow-up visits. The free personal consultation consists of the stylist determining your size based on their "holistic approach" of visual signifiers (rather than the oft-used measuring tape). The bras themselves are used as measuring tools. The expert at Intimacy fits the client in multiple styles and a few different sizes to both determine the ideal size and demonstrate the many varied silhouettes that are possible just by switching styles. In addition to the personal touch, Intimacy offer free alterations for the life of the bra!
To look your best for any occasion, follow the professional advice of Intimacy’s stylists:

The new Crocs flagship store, conveniently located in NYC’s Herald Square and right across from Macy’s (billed as the world’s largest department store), officially opened with Vanessa Lachey at the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with Crocs executives Dan Hart, (Chief Legal and Administrative Officer), Dale Bathum, (Chief Product Officer), Greg Sullivan (General Manager of the Americas Region) and Mario Caruso (34th Street Store Manager).
The new stores boasts two floors packed with a selection of over 300 different pairs. The first floor features new styles for both men and women, and the second floor is just for the kids. In the center of the second floor is the giant “jibbitz” dispenser. Shoppers of all ages can rummage the bins of tiny animal-shape buttons—“Jibbitz” in Croc parlance—to customize the popular perforated models.
Crocs is known for their Crayola-colored sandals (made fro m a resin dubbed Croslite). Orange Crocs have become celebrity chef Mario Batali’s signature footwear so much, that when the rumor came out that Crocs was going to discontinue its color orange, Batali said in an interview for Details’ January 2014 issue that he owns “Probably 30. I just ordered 200 more because they’re about to take orange out of the field. They made a special run for me before they retired the color.”. That’s scary. Well, Crocs is so much more than that.
The women’s selection has a slew of comfortable ballet flats, flip flops, jellies, rain boots, wedges, leather and winter boots. All have the patented Croslite soles for comfort and traction. Great picks are the stylish, leather-strap women’s platforms, which sport only a strip of Croslite on the sole for traction; and the Prima is a women’s flat made entirely of Croslite and thus offering more arch support. And finally, how about showing off your New York pride with Crocs emblazened with the signature “I Heart NY” logo, as well as NY specific sports teams like the Mets and Yankees?
