Anime Fans Unite at Liberty City Anime Con

Liberty City Anime Con

Liberty City Anime Con, now in its 13th year, is the largest anime convention in New York City. It is a convention uniquely run-by-fans and for-fans as a non-profit. This Anime Con is more than a tradeshow; it is a community gathering of fans who love Anime and manga, and fan attendance has grown yearly since 2013. Liberty City Anime Con 2018 is held August 17-19 at the posh Marriott Marquis in Times Square with convenient train, bus and subway transportation.

Expect cosplay contests, anime screenings, dance and music performances, and after-parties—fantasy fun for all ages. Plushies, manga, figurines and other anime collector's merchandise will be on sale at the booths. This weekend also features panels and talks on the Anime industry, and special guests that include many voice actors, animators, and J-Pop singers with limited autograph signings. Among the guests of honor are: Vic Mignogna, Lia, LeetStreetBoys, 2une, and Reni Mimura.

NY NOW, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift

NY NOW, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, is the premiere international tradeshow for gifts and home accessories. The Summer 2018 market opens on Sunday, August 12, 2018 through Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The tradeshow is organized into three collections: Home, Lifestyle and Handmade.

See & Learn How to Make the Future of TV at the New York Television Festival

 

With special screenings, panels and more, the New York Television Festival (July 14 - 19) features the future of TV. Held at the Helen Mills Event Space and Theater (137 West 26th St.) there are more panels and workshops than you can shake a CRT at.

At the Creator Bootcamp you can learn how to pitch your own series. Or you can see a showcase of pilots for what may become upcoming new shows. Other panels look into production, content development, an examination of the future of comedy and more.

At the SVA Theater you’ll be able to see a screening of comedian Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters, followed by a conversation with Bobcat Goldthwait and guest stars Dave Foley and David Koechner, moderated by Ophira Eisenberg (NPR's "Ask Me Another")
