Latino Film Comes to Life at Havana Film Festival New York

Bringing films from the Latino world to the heart of New York, the Havana Film Festival New York will show 45 films from April 12-19 including 3 world premieres, five US premieres, and 28 New York premieres. Including features from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Spain, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and the U.S, 19 films will compete for the coveted Havana Star Prize.

The opening film, 'Amor Crónico' (Chronic Love), follows the musical tour of Grammy-nominated singer CuCu Diamantes as she travels back to her roots in Cuba. It will be presented by director Jorge Perugorría and Diamantes herself and will be followed by a special concert at Joe's Pub on April 13.

  • A Cadeira o Pai (Father's Chair) - Luciano Moura, Brasil
  • Todo el Mundo Tiene a Alguien Menos Yo (Everybody's Got Somebody But Me) -Raul Fuentes, Mexico
  • Febre do Rato (Rat Fever) - Claudio Assis, Brasil
  • Paisajes Devorados (Vanishing Landscapes) - Eliseo Subiela, Argentina
