The New York International Auto Show has announced that it’s 2021 installment shall be held August 20 to 29th. Mark Scheinberg, President of the New York Auto Show, has stated that the change in date “...is not only the responsible thing to do, but it puts us in a unique position to occupy the expanded Javits Center with an additional 100,000 sq. ft. of new exhibit space on the main floor and much more.” The extensive Javits Center expansion plans include a 53,000 square-foot special event space that will accommodate up to 5,000 guests, a 480,000 square-foot, 4-level marshaling facility, 27 new loading docks, 107,000 sq. ft. of new meeting room space, 113,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space, a rooftop pavilion accommodating 1,500 guests and a one-acre rooftop farm. No other details regarding the possibility of online programming have been released.

Play NYC is New York’s largest game convention for creators and players alike and for the first time, Play NYC will be online, free to attend, and a full week long. Running August 10 to 16, Play NYC was launched in 2017 and celebrates NYC’s gaming development scene and features the latest releases from studios large and small, and from developers old and new. Expect 70+ games from New York and beyond in addition to talks, panels, Graffiti Games, and exclusive demos.
This year’s Graffiti Games segment, presented by Rockstar Games, commissions developers to make socially conscious games for Play NYC. This year’s Graffiti Games will feature the work of five talented Black game developers that focus on the importance of creating a safe space for all to be their authentic selves.
