NAB Show: Faith 'N' Summit 2012

speaker sorbo 100Over the centuries, with the release of many classics like Ben-Hur and The Ten Commandments, there has been an emergence of faith-based films such as Dreamworks' animated epic adventure, The Prince of Egypt, the heart-warming narrative of the birth of baby Jesus in The Nativity Story as well as Mel Gibson’s emotionally intense The Passion of the Christ.

So with Easter Sunday just around the corner, what better way to spend the following Sunday at the NAB Show's Faith ‘N’ Summit.

The Faith ‘N’ Summit will be conducted for those interested in the linkage of the arts and faith on Sunday, April 15, 2012, 8 am - 6pm at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Many film/television representatives and guest speakers will be present to discuss not only in-depth info on their faith and philosophy, but also panel discussions, screenings at the Faith ‘N’ Summit Film Festival, and more.

This year, 168 Film Project partners with the NAB show again on behalf of the workshop.

Guest appearances include actor/writer/director, Corbin Bernsen (Psych, L.A. Law, Seinfeld), actor Kevin Sorbo, who played the renowned role of Hercules, the Legendary Journeys & Andromeda, as well as comedian Michael Jr. who has been featured on The Tonight Show and Comedy Central.

The program includes:

  • Introduction session of the 168 Film Project with founder John David Ware
  • Guest speaker Corbin Bersen
  • Interview with Kevin Sorbo
  • Guest speaker Ted Baehr
  • Don’t Laugh comedy corner with Michael Jr.
  • Panel Discussion: Show me the Money: Funding Faith and Family Motion Pictures 2012
  • Film ‘N’ Summit Film Festival

Produced in partnership with the 168 Film Project (an incubator for filmmakers) and NAB Show, The Faith 'N' Film Summit focused on the intersection of art and faith, boasts media leaders who will share Hollywood story-telling techniques and secrets for attracting audiences.

The 168 Film Project includes worldwide filmmaking and writing competitions.  All work is based on randomly assigned Bible verses. One-sixty-eight appeals to both beginning and experienced artists because of the opportunity, its professionalism and faithfulness to the Word. The 168 Hour Film Project is a competition where producers have 168 hours (one week) to film and edit an 11-minute movie based on a theme and a Bible verse.  All films are created during production week and premiere at the annual 168 Film Festival.

All are welcome, including the worldwide community of faith, church media professionals, filmmakers, artists, pastors and ministries seeking quality faith-based content.
